Comments: WELCOME HOME ALL MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS. I WAS IN VIET NAM WITH THE 1ST CALVARY-DELTA CO. 1/8 IN 1968-69. THROUGH THE NET I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIND ABOUT A DOZEN OF THE MEN THAT SERVED WITH ME IN VIET NAM, IN MY VERY OWN COMPANY. FOR THOSE THAT ARE NOT AWARE, THERE IS A WEB SITE FOR THE 1ST CALVERY. ANY ONE NEEDING THAT INFO. I CAN BE OF HELP TO YOU WITH THE 1ST CALVARY WEB, I WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO GUIDE YOU TO THAT WEB SITE... JUST E-MAIL ME.I WAS IN INFANRY WITH MY COMPANY IN VIET NAM. IF YOU WERE A "GRUNT", YOU KNOW WHAT WE WENT THROUGH. I STARTED GOING TO THE V A FOR ASSISTANCE, UNDER THIS CALLED "PTSD" PRGRAM . V A HAS BEEN DOING THIER BEST IN HELPING ME. SUCH AS HELPING ME WITH MY LACK OF SLEEP (waking up every nite in the middle of the nite) AND ANGER MANGEMENT. ALONG WITH ALL THIS I HAVE PUT IN A CLAIM FOR "PTSD" COMPENSATION. WHICH I HAVE BEEN INCOURAGED TO DO SO BY V A. I AM NOW WAITING FOR A % RATING WHICH WILL BE GIVEN TO ME, AND COLLECT ($) COMPENSATION. WHAT IT WILL BE, I DO NOT KNOW YET. THERE IS A LOT OF RED TAPE AND WAITING, BUT MAY BE WORTH MY WAIT. MAYBE, "YOU" MAY BE HELPED ALSO???? IF ANY ONE OUT THERE CAN GIVE ME INSIDE AS TO WHAT GOES ON THIS PROCESS AND HOW LONG IT TAKES FOR COMPENSATION. PLEASE E-MAIL ME ALSO. GOD BLESS YOU ALL, I HOPE TO HEAR FROM ANY OF MY COMRADES. 1ST CALVERY, THE FIRST AND THE BEST.........EDWARD RODELA E-MAIL [email protected]

Comments: I served in US Army, Infantry, during WW II, European Theatre of War until Hon. discharge April, 1946 as a T-4 Sgt. Last assignment in XXII Corps Hqs., Pilsen, Czechoslovakia. My question: How do I locate a record of the burial site in Europe of my old high school friend, Edwin Herrin who served in US Air Force as a pilot, killed sometime in early 40's, possibly over France or England. He was born in Little Rock, Ark. in 1920 or 1921. I have no other background information about him, except his wife was Vivian Sawyer Herrin. Any clues as to where I should search the Internet for this information, or is it classified under the Privacy Act? Thank you very much James W. Anderton E-mail [email protected].

Comments: Hi Guys! I'm Co-Director of a POW/MIA organization in Kansas and my husband is a Vietnam Vet - lst Infantry (1966-67). He was a Phu Loi, SVN. I get some e-mail from you once in awhile on the issue and thought I'd let you know that we're on the POW/MIA Network (Necci) but if you get anything from anyone else - please send. Also, I've been trying to locate an old Army buddy of my husband's. They went through boot camp together and over to Vietnam. They lost track of each other over the years and now, even with the help of the Internet, I can't seem to find him. Had hoped, after sending out 160 + postcards, that something would turn up but no luck. The guy I'm looking for is named Lee Jensen. Original home of record was Bloomington, MN. He was with the lst Infantry, Division Artillery, from 1966-67. Found a Lee Jensen in MN - belonged to VFW & Legion - but was a Korean Vet. My husband lost all the information he had on Lee in a fire years ago so this is all I have to go on. If you can help, please let me know. Sure appreciate what you guys are doing & accomplishing - will pass your brochures out wherever I can. Thanks for serving & Welcome Home.

Comments: We have alot of Vets that can't afford the 19.95 membership, do you have any other price plans? As a Gulf War Vet, many of us are sick and so are our family members and the VA is turning down 95% of our claims. We need our money for food or meds. Alot of the Vets need your service because they need to locate people that served in there unit to write letters to help support there claim. Since so many health records were lost or destroyed the Va is asking for personal written statements to support a Veterans claims. You have a great idea here and it will be much appreciated by many, but let's not forget thoes who get tangled in the red tape and politicts. Comments: I write about veterans/veterans organizations for The Macomb Daily, particularly activities in Macomb County, Michigan. I am always looking for good story ideas. I am married to a brown water Navy Vietnam veteran. My son, whose biological father is a '68-69 Thailand Air Force vet, died one year ago. We are convinced my son's medical problems and disabilities were due to Agent Orange. Our pediatrician was a Special Forces veteran with a PhD in genetics and was well aware of congenital disabilities in the children of Vietnam veterans. This is a long-winded way of saying I am also interested in the Agent Orange issue on a personal level. God bless you all.

He is from upstate New York and was born somewhere between 1915 and 1925. I have had no luck whatsoever in finding ANY information on him. And, I really have no major information to go on. He is a long lost relative who DID return to the U.S. after the war. If anyone has ANY information or leads, please email me at [email protected] Thank you in advance! Jen

My husband was with the 1st Infantry, 1966-67, at Phu Loi, SVN, Division Artillery. His name is Hollis D. "Barney" Kahmeyer and the friends's name is Lee Jensen. Lee was from Minnesota. I'll get info from my husband to put into your membership but hope this helps to find Lee. It would make a terrific gift for my husband. He's given up and thinks Lee may not be alive anymore. Thank You, Thank You for this site. By the way, we both belong to the Wichita Area Vietnam Vets, Inc. of Wichita, KS and Project Quest POW/MIA Assoc. of Kansas (of which I am co-director). Salute! My unit saw plenty of action including Old Baldy, Jane Russell Hill, Pork Chop Hill and they were at Chosin Reservoir before I got there. I have bookmarked all webpages I can find concerning the Korean War including yours. This is a great idea. I have heard from a few of my buddies recently. This is mainly because I got onto the internet by means of webtv. It means alot after all this time to hear from men whom you haven't seen for 45 years. Best Regards, Jack Lund

We departed Japan and arrived in Tonkin Gulf 20 NOV 1970. Upon joining Task Force 77 we were instructed to be on alert for possible enemy attack after midnight. TF-77 consisted of Oriskany, Ranger, Hancock, Kitty Hawk, Chicago,Jouett, Wainwright, Stoddert, Lloyd Thomas, Perkins, Agerholm and perhaps others. I am seeking contact and information from sailors who were aboard any of these ship on that night. I am researching this date because of the Operation Back Door in which the Navy supported the Operation Kingpin (the raid on Son Tay POW camp). This was my first underway experience and only time I was at GQ in combat zone. I am writing to request that you share this with your reunion group and help me contact others who were there and have memories of that event. It is good to rejoin with old friends and share the memories while we preserve the history. I appreciate your time and assistance in this project. The USS Wainwright has a Web Site for our Veterans Association : http://www.visi.com/~dlgcg28 Other ships are also located on World Wide Web for easy contact. Wishing great success with your reunion!! Don Raby

I like it, but not only because it matched someone I was looking for, but because I'm new at this and the site was easy to use. It is also the only site that got particulars when it came to my info. Alot of locators give lots of matches and then your stuck guessing who is who.. Extra info lets you know if thats who your really looking for..
