Comments: Looking for a Jim Price (98G2L) who served in Vietnam (on a second tour) from the Spring of 1970. I don't know who he served with, but I would think it would have been an intelligence element. A 98G2L is an Electronic Warfare/Signal Intelligence Voice Interceptor now, I'm not sure if it was the same back then. He was originally from Tennessee or Kentucky (more likely Tennessee). His post before Vietnam was Fort Holabird, Maryland, probably with the U.S. Army Intelligence Center and I believe he returned there after his Nam tour. He was probably a career soldier and may now be working in the intelligence field. I have 3 conflicting descriptions of him: one is a younger version of Dustin Hoffman, another is the character "Jared" from "The Pretender" and the third is tall with red hair (all quite different). If anyone knows him or knew him, please, please contact me.

Also have a few that I have mailed out cards to, but the cards were returned. Maybe you can do something with these also. Comments: I am trying to locate a SGT Jim Price who was stationed at Fort Holabird, Maryland in the early part of 1970. I think he served with 218 MID, however, it could have been another Military Intelligence unit in Fort Holabird. My dad tells me he was definitely intelligence. During his time at Fort Holabird he became engaged to a girl who died of cancer. He would have been born in 1944-46 as he was 25 in 1970. He came from Tennessee. He had a black weathercoat (that he "loved") and he left it with my mother (Barbara (Lynn) Brinegar) before he deployed to Vietnam (on his second tour) in March or April of 1970. I would love to hear from him as I would like to tell him that he has a granddaughter. I understand that he may not want to get in touch with me, however, if someone out there knows him I would be eternally grateful if you would ask him to contact me. If he doesn't want to contact me could you also let me know this, so that I can stop my search. I've seen the wonderful results that Veteransearch has achieved and hope that they will be able to help me. TOUJOURS EN AVANT - SSGT JOE CHAISSON

All of these fine men served with the 60th Land Clearing Engineer Company in Vietnam 1971. Now lets see if anyone out there can help us. This site has been very helpful in locating our brothers, lets hope it still works. I have faith it will since it always has.

Comments: FLASH----FLASH----FLASH----FLASH----FLASH----FLASH I have an update of my 9/12/99 guest book entry. Reference the Award of the Army Occupation Medal with Berlin Airlift Device. I have found out that Hq,Berlin Military Post General Orders No. 8 dated 31 Jan 1950 is not divided, but instead the complete list from A to Z is composed of G.O.#7 which contains names from A to GR (or GU) while G.O.#8 contains names from GUDAITUS,JAMES A. to OATLEY,WALTER A. G.O.#8 which I have consists of 15 pages,657 names from 40 different units. I have just now received portions of G.O.#9. What I received was only pages 1,2,11 & 12.Page 1=33 names O'BARA,RICHARD S. to PACK,WILLIS H. Page 2=49 names PADGETT,WILLIAM R. JR. to PERRINO,MERVYN W. (the left corner of this page is torn off, so for the last 12 names on this page, part of the last name is not visible, but the rest of the info is there.) Page 11=46 names THORPE,JACK L. to UYEHARA,SHIGERU. Page 12=44 names VADDER,GEORGE E. JR. to WARD,JAMES M. There probably are a couple more pages after page 12. So if you or any other enlisted persons you know were stationed in the Army in Berlin during the Airlift, please encourage them to look for their copies of these G.O.'s. If we can locate all 3 of them, then we should have a listing of all the Army enlisted men who were in Berlin during the Airlift. By the way, I just thought of something ... I'm sure there must also be a list for officers awarded the Berlin Airlift Device. Let's find these also. If anyone needs information from the lists I have, send me an e-mail and I'll get the info right back to you. I'll be attending the Berlin Airlift Veteran's Assn. (BAVA) reunion in St Louis at the Henry VIII Hotel 26-30 Sep 1999 and the Berlin US Military Veteran's Assn. (BUSMVA) reunion in Columbia,SC at the Clarion Town House Hotel 17-22 Oct 1999. I'll give a set of what I have to BAVA and BUSMVA and I'll have some extra sets with me. Dave Morrow 9844 Vandenburg St.,El Paso,TX 79924 (915)755-2627 E-mail: [email protected]

I do not know what group of soldiers he was with. He was in boot camp out in the midwest and spent sometime in Texas before being sent to station. I will try to obtain more info for this page. Comments: I have been trying to find a friend for many years. His name is Howard 'Tiny' Snow, a Korean War vet, from Illinois or Indiana and lived in Los Angeles during 1958,59 and 60. Howard was going to school in L. A. and was one of the nicest persons I met during the years I lived there. I worked for Dr. Elmer Belt and then left California to return to Nebraska to teach school. I have tried for years to find out where he is and how the world has treated him. I know there isn't much info here but, it's all I've got. I hope you can help me. I have retired now and am just realizing how precious old friends are. Thanks. This is a tremendous site and a wonderful place for old friends to meet. Keep up the good work.

It is great to see someone putting so much interest and emphasis in a site that is dedicated to us veterans. I served for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and have been retired from it for 25 years. Just now starting to search for some of my old buddies. Will definately use your site for some of this.

His name is Robert (Bobby) Lent, as I recall, his rank was A2C or A1C (E-3 or 4), and he was assigned to the 377th SUPPLY SQD at TAN SON NHUT AB. I am not sure, but, he may have been from MI or WI. Sam Houston in Texas. This will be for reminiscence purpose's only , as I have been curious over the years , about what happened to them? They were all members of the 9940th TSU Wac-Det of the hospital. If they do? and are willing to recognize me I was called "RED" by most of them. Their maiden names were; Arlene Berg , Jackie Bellinger , Evelyn Durow , Betty Gibson , Scotty?(Bessie) Holland , "Charlotte Kolankowski , Flora (Dina) Moore (Possibly Wanda?). I know forty plus years is a long time , but I am all alone now except for an old dog , and we don't have much else to do with our time anymore! My E-Mail contact is at [email protected]/ . This is a very good site keep up the good work.

Comments: THIS IS A REPEAT OF A MESSAGE I POSTED SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. I have 1 section of Hq Berlin Military Post General Orders No.8 dated 31 Jan 1950. "Award of Army Occupation Medal with Berlin Airlift Device." These GO's were divided by alphabetical group. The group I have that includes my name is from GUDAITUS,JAMES A. to OATLEY,WALTER A. These include all Army units in Berlin during the Airlift. My set contains 15 pages with 657 names from 40 different Army units. It includes name, rank, serial number,(not SSN)and unit assigned. By order of Colonel Duke, R.H.Kraven,Lt.Col. AGD, Adjutant. There must be at least 2 more groups of this G.O., but so far, I haven't been able to locate them. If you,or someone you know, were in the Army in Berlin during the Airlift and your last name begins with A to G, or O to Z, please see if you can find a set of these orders. (I found mine in a box under some other boxes in my storage shed)I'll gladly pay for copying and postage. If anyone needs information from my group, send me an e-mail and I'll e-mail the info back to you. I'll be attending the Berlin Airlift Veterans Association (BAVA) reunion in St Louis at the Henry VIII Hotel 26-30 September 1999 and the Berlin US Military Veterans Association (BUSMVA) reunion in Columbia,SC at the Clarion House Hotel 17-22 October 1999. I'll give a set to BAVA and BUSMVA and I'll have some extra sets with me. Dave Morrow 9844 Vandenburg St.,El Paso,TX 79924 (915)755-2627

Comments: I'm searching for myself as well as my father for anyone who might have served in Vietnam with him. He was G Co. 2nd BN 26 marines. He was wounded in combat on April 6 or 8 1968. Can't remember name of hill that was being securred for the day but it was outside of Khe Sahn. ANY information would be of great appreciation!!! Also, primarily looking for the Gunnery Sgt. that saved his life by pulling him out after he was hit by a grenade. My dad thinks the Sgt. was hit by mortar round (friendly fire) that my dad had just called in (dad was radio operator) before being struck with the grenade. Which also means that the Sgt. knew it was coming and came after my dad anyway. My fathers name was Cpl. James F. Alexander. I will appreciate anything! Thanks!
